Legacy of Civil War
Do you know the Civil War of America? From 1861 to 1865, North American and South American fought a civil war because of the slavery, agriculture and freedom. Abraham Lincoln was the president during the war. But, he was assassinated after the war.
The civil war brought the African Americans a lot of rights and their lives had been improved, but only for a short time. African American still had to face segregation. They were still discriminated by White people. In the South created a lot of new laws which limited those rights. These new laws are known as Jim Crow laws. A lot of things were affected by Jim Crow laws,for example, Voting, Education,etc.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the 32nd president of United States. He was also the only president who served four terms.
Eleanor Roosevelt
Eleanor Roosevelt is the wife of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. After the President died, Mrs Roosevelt remained very busy working to promote the rights of others. She fought to advance universal rights, women's rights, and civil rights.
Great Depression
The Great Depression was a severe worldwide economic depression in the 1930s. The Depression resulted in an increase of emigration of people to other countries for the first time in American history.
World War II
World war II was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945, though related conflicts began earlier. During the World War II, Franklin D Roosevelt approves US $ 1 billion dollars in Lend- Lease aid to the Allied nations.
The Foundations of Government
-The first settlers who came to the United States were from Great Britain and other countries in Europe. They came here for a better life, religion freedom, escaping the war, etc.
-There are three branches of government : Legislative, executive, and judicial.
Legislative Branch: which called Congress, and it has two parts which are the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Executive Branch: means the president and the vice president.
Judicial Branch: means the Supreme Court.
-There are 27 Amendment in the United States.
The First Amendment guarantees freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and freedom of the press.
The Second and Fourth Amendments help protect all citizens against the misuse of power by the government and, especially, the police.
The Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Amendments provide protection for people who are accused of crimes.
-Until 1821, many states restricted voting to landowners.
-Before the 1920, women were prohibited from voting in most states.
